In the 16th and 17th centuries, the Bruges-born scientist Simon Stevin brought about revolutionary innovations in areas such as navigation, physics, architecture, urban design and mathematics. This year it is exactly 400 years ago that he died. For the first time, an exhibition in the City Archive of Bruges brings together all his works and manuscripts. To kick off the new academic year, and as a welcome social occasion in confusing Covid times, on Oct 23, we will be visiting this exhibition with a delegation of CLPS.
