On 20 June 2025, our former colleague Helen De Cruz, currently Danforth Chair in the Humanities at Saint Louis University, has passed on. Helen was affiliated to our research centre as a PhD student in the years 2003 to 2008. She succesfully defended her doctoral thesis "Innate ideas as a naturalistic source of mathematical knowledge. Towards a Darwinian approach to mathematical cognition" on 19 March 2007. After that, she held several research positions both in Belgium and abroad, studying a phletora of interconnected topics with depth and wit.
