Colin Jakob Rittberg has been a member of the Centre of Logic and Philosophy of Science at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel since 2015. He studied mathematics at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, Germany, and began his doctoral studies at the Università degli Studi di Palermo, Italy. He continued his doctoral studies on the philosophy of contemporary set-theoretic practice at the University of Hertfordshire, UK, under the supervision of Brendan Larvor and was awarded a doctoral degree in 2016. Colin specialises in the philosophy of mathematical practices. His current project is to develop a virtue epistemology of mathematical practices that is sensitive to the particularly human dimensions of mathematical knowledge-making.
